EDINBURGH IGNITES: Your Bonfire Night Survival Guide!

As the evenings grow colder, Edinburgh prepares for the ancient tradition of Bonfire Night, a time for dazzling displays and the comforting glow of flames. This year, the city encourages residents to gather at organized events, prioritizing safety and a peaceful celebration.

Concerns over potential disorder have shaped this year’s festivities, leading to a carefully curated selection of displays. Despite a smaller number of events, opportunities to witness spectacular fireworks and experience the warmth of a bonfire remain plentiful throughout the city and surrounding areas.

For a family-friendly experience, the Currie & Balerno District Round Table hosts its annual fireworks display at George V Park. While a bonfire won’t be lit this year, the event promises a vibrant spectacle alongside tempting treats like candyfloss and glow accessories, beginning at 6:30pm with fireworks at 7:15pm.

From 5:30pm, attendees can witness the lighting of three successive bonfires followed by a “premier” fireworks display, all from the comfort of their cars, accompanied by warming beverages and tasty treats.

These carefully planned events offer a chance to experience the magic of Bonfire Night safely and responsibly, creating lasting memories for families and individuals alike. The city hopes these displays will foster a sense of community and shared celebration.
