A Toronto man now faces a barrage of charges following a police raid that uncovered a hidden arsenal. The 35-year-old is accused of nineteen firearm-related offences, alongside additional charges stemming from probation violations and drug possession.
The investigation culminated Monday evening around 5:45 p.m. when officers from the 23 Division and the Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence near Sheppard Avenue West and Weston Road. What they found inside painted a disturbing picture.
Authorities allege the search revealed two loaded semi-automatic pistols, a dangerously modified sawed-off shotgun, and a substantial collection of ammunition. Overcapacity firearm magazines were also seized, alongside a significant quantity of marijuana and a large sum of cash.
Phillip Michael Parker is specifically charged with multiple counts relating to the unauthorized possession of firearms, prohibited devices, and loaded weapons. He also faces accusations of careless firearm and ammunition storage, and possessing proceeds of crime.
Further compounding the charges, Parker is accused of violating his probation conditions. The alleged offenses carry serious penalties, reflecting the gravity of possessing such weaponry.
Parker was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning at the Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, room 107. The case is expected to draw significant attention given the nature of the allegations.
Investigators continue to seek information related to this case. Anyone with knowledge that could assist the investigation is urged to come forward.
