He arranged a meeting at the couple’s apartment under the guise of returning license plates. Surveillance footage captured the encounter, showing Morales handing Revuckas a screwdriver – a seemingly innocuous gesture that foreshadowed the horror to come.
Minutes later, Revuckas re-entered the building, concealing the screwdriver behind his back. The apartment door opened and closed, and investigators believe a desperate struggle unfolded within those walls. The video offered a silent, haunting prelude to the devastation.
What followed was even more disturbing. Hours after the attack, police bodycam footage revealed Revuckas exhibiting an unsettling calmness. He spoke to officers with a detached demeanor, showing no outward signs of fear or aggression.
Initially, he denied entering the apartment beyond the dining room, casually stating, “I didn’t go past the dining room table,” his hands resting on his hips. This initial denial would later crumble under the weight of evidence.
