There are Toronto Blue Jays fans who will be lucky enough to receive one of hundreds of World Series tickets that Rogers is giving away .
And then there are the fans who are willing to drop anything and spend anything for tickets.
For those truly invested in getting close to the action but in a unique setting, the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel boasts guest rooms with stadium views.
Whether it’s two double beds or one king, it will run you nearly $9,000 for Games 1 and 2.
Jenn Barbosa and friends thought they went all out when they booked a room for Game 2 of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners.
“It was my first time watching a baseball game this way and I really enjoyed it,” she said.
“It’s definitely a different experience because you’re not sitting in the stadium with the majority of a fan base feeling that same energy,” she continued. “But you create your own energy in your room when you’re with the right people.”
Barbosa noted that having the comforts of your own fridge with whatever food you want via the hotel restaurant or food delivery service, not to mention your own bathroom, certainly helped.
She admitted that “prices went up significantly since the last series,” revealing that from the time the room was booked to the very next day, the price had gone up $3,000 — but it’s totally worth it.
“It was just a great view for us and a fun time,” Barbosa said. “So much so that we clearly wanted to do it again and, to be honest, it was the only way we were going to get to watch the game live because tickets were impossible to get.”
The Toronto Blue Jays also offer various experiences for those who want to not only enjoy the game but go beyond the bases and indulge in some serious high-end hospitality.
There’s the TD Lounge , which might look familiar to those who watch the games on television.
The section with arguably the best seats in the house, behind home plate, includes in-seat service but is also connected to a high-end bar and lounge.
