A shocking act of malice unfolded in Evansville, Indiana, early Sunday morning, leaving a couple battling excruciating pain after their DoorDash delivery. Viral video footage captured the disturbing moment a delivery driver allegedly tampered with their food, seemingly at random.
The footage, recorded by a doorbell camera, shows a woman with vibrant purple hair delivering an Arby’s order. After briefly photographing the delivery, she appears to discreetly spray the food bag with an irritant before concealing the spray in her jacket and departing.
Mark Cardin and his wife were the unsuspecting victims. They initially noticed something was wrong as they began to eat, with Mrs. Cardin immediately choking and gasping for air. She soon vomited after just a few bites.
Upon closer inspection, Mr. Cardin discovered a suspicious substance on the food bag, prompting him to review his doorbell camera footage. The video revealed the driver’s deliberate act, leaving him stunned and fearful of what his wife had ingested.
“It’s horrific,” Cardin stated to local news. “We assume it’s pepper spray, but in this day and age, it could’ve been anything – rat poison, fentanyl. My wife could’ve been dead.” The realization of the potential danger sent a wave of terror through the couple.
Local authorities swiftly launched a criminal investigation. Sheriff Noah Robinson confirmed that deputies responded to the home after the couple reported burning sensations in their mouths, throats, stomachs, and noses shortly after consuming the meal.

Cardin reported that DoorDash refunded his order, but the financial compensation offers little solace compared to the fear and trauma experienced. He also noted the driver had already blocked him on the DoorDash app following the incident, suggesting a deliberate attempt to cut off contact.
