The usually unflappable host ofThe Masked Singer, Joel Dommett, experienced a moment of pure panic – and a major slip-up – during filming of the upcoming Christmas special. After six years of keeping secrets, he accidentally revealed the identity of one of the costumed celebrities.
The festive lineup includes characters like Santa’s Sack, Goose A-Laying, Figgy Pudding, and Mistletoe, each hoping to conceal their identity through song and elaborate disguise. But for one performer, the game was effectively over before it began, thanks to Joel’s unintentional outburst.
It happened instantly. The moment Mistletoe let out a uniquely recognizable chuckle, Joel blurted out the celebrity’s name without a second thought. The studio audience erupted in laughter as a mortified Joel sank to the floor, realizing the gravity of his mistake.
“I can’t believe I did it,” he confessed, still visibly shaken. “This person was chuckling in the costume, and it’s a chuckle I know well. Their actual name just came out!” Despite the blunder, the judges were already close to guessing correctly, offering a small reprieve.
