The initial thread of the investigation began with two brazen attempted kidnappings. In May, three men – Khan, Osman Azizov, 18, and Fahad Sadaat, 19 – allegedly cornered a woman, brandishing a handgun and a knife, attempting to force her into a vehicle. Less than a month later, the same three men allegedly pursued another pair of women, this time armed with a handgun, a rifle, and a knife.
